Oils for Your Skin Type

A few drops of essential oils in your homemade face mask or combined with a blend of base oils suitable for your skin type will provide a spa like treat.

As a golden rule never use more than 16 to 20 drops of essential oil mix per 100 ml base oil. Figuring out which essential oils work best can be confusing. Below is a list of base and essential oils suitable for each main skin type.

Normal Skin
Base Oils: Jojoba, sesame, pomegranate

Essential Oils: Rose geranium, roman chamomile, fennel, lavender, patchouli, rose, sandalwood

Combination Skin
Base Oils: Jojoba, hemp, pomegranate

Essential Oils: Rosewood, ylang-ylang rose geranium

Base Oils: Melon seed, hemp, sunflower, evening primrose

Essential Oils: Cedar wood, bergamot, rose geranium, clary sage, lemon, cypress, frankincense, juniper vetivert,  grapefruit, lavender.

Base Oils: Cocoa butter, rose hip oil, jojoba, coconut, sesame, hemp, pomegranate.

Essential Oils: Rose geranium, hyssop, patchouli, rose, roman chamomile, sandalwood, ylang-ylang.

Sensitive Skin
Base Oils: Rose hip jojoba, calendula, olive melon seed

Essential Oils: Chamomile, rose, neroli, lavender, sandalwood.

Mature Skin
Base Oils: Grape seed, apricot, rose hip, jojoba, pomegranate, sesame oil.

Essential Oils: Frankincense, rose geranium, myrrh, rose, neroli, palmarosa,

Base Oils: Pomegranate, hemp, melon seed, evening primrose.

Essential Oils: Tea tree, manuka, lavender, thyme, rose geranium, myrrh, grapefruit, bergamot, vetitver, juniper, lemongrass, german and roman chamomile, cedar wood, palmarosa.

Rosacea
Base Oils: Pomegranate, hemp, melon seed, evening primrose.

Essential Oils: German Chamomile, rose wood, rose geranium.

Eczema
Base Oils: Pomegranate, hemp, evening primrose, avocado.

Essential Oils: German and roman chamomile, lavender, helichrysum, rose geranium, sandalwood.
